Understand the complexities and the impact family violence has on families, and the effect on a person’s dignity and wellbeing. Explore entrapment theory, coercive control and resistance, and learn how to use the Recognise / Respond / Refer model.

Practical Skills and Tools to Respond Effectively to People Experiencing Family Violence

Develop your skills and deepen your understanding of how to provide practical and effective support to people experiencing family violence. This training explores the complexities of risk, how to undertake informed risk assessments, and how to implement client-led and client-centred interventions. 

Building on the Concepts of Entrapment and Response-Based Practice

This training is for those who are skilled in working with people who are experiencing family violence. Building on the concepts of entrapment, resistance and response-based practice at level 1 and 2, this level 3 training is focused on becoming agents for systemic change. 

The session addresses the most challenging parts of advocacy; it explores how to advocate against Participants will build skills to support systemic responses such as coordinating multi-agency responses, building community alliances, and utilising information sharing.

Working with Men Who Use Family Violence

This specialist training day is designed to grow your skills in working with men who use family violence. It will provide practical tools and strategies you can apply directly in your work. The day is interactive and practice-focused, tailored to meet the needs of practitioners engaging with users of violence. There will be practical tools and strategies for how to approach and engage someone who uses violence and maintaining dignity when working with users of violence.

Responding to Children's Experience of Family Violence

This training builds on the Level 1 and Level 2 training and delves deeper into understanding how children experience family violence, coercive control, and entrapment. It draws on emerging research and practice in this field, alongside a child rights perspective under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. The day also deepens understanding of social entrapment, exploring social and systemic inequities and children’s experiences of the Family Court in the context of family violence.
